Description:
Thinning out my personal collection of many years. Remington 1911 Model 8D Engraved in 35 Caliber. Rifle is 100% matching numbers and exquisite inside and out. Serial number 21927. Has a round hang tag from the original family members explaining the owner on both sides as follows: "Remington .35 semi-automatic original owner was Jonas S. Rice. Gun was inherited by JSR's son-in-law S.T. Farish given by him to by JSR's grandson R.W Neff, Jr.". It's a mouthful but a nice piece of history & provinance! Wood grain is gorgeous as is the engraving. All metal and wood surfaces are factory original and unmolested! The only change is the front sight that has been swapped out by the original owner to an expensive Lyman aperature globe front sight. The bore is excellent with wonderful lands/grooves and shiney. I have personally test fired this rifle and it's mechanical function is as it should be with no issues. It's a very accurate rifle and was well taken care of. Early Model 8 Engraved rifles are near impossible to come by in this condition.
