Description: This John Dickson & Son Round action boxlock, manufactured around 1887 is in magnificent condition for its age. It is furnished handsomely in a set of hand checkered figured walnut stocks and fitted with a 29 inch Damascus barrel set made in a bold twist pattern and finished in a characteristic English brown. Something of note on this particular shotgun is that despite its age it has been re proofed with CIP nitro proofs, though discretion is always advised with Damascus barrels. The receiver is engraved with a beautiful fine scroll pattern and shows almost no signs of wear. The stocks are the only aspects that show any signs of this firearm's age, they show very light marks from handling and one of the past owners had the stock lengthened by approximately ¾ of an inch.
