Beautiful Sako L579. Built in 1970 with Bofors steel. Both metal and high gloss furniture are in Excellent condition. Sako butter smooth bolt.
Specification
The Sako L579 was designed by Eino Makinen in 1958 based on the previous Sako L57 Rifle. The new hunting rifle was designed to be used as much as possible for the precision casting parts of the latest precision casting foundry.
The barrel is cold-forged from high-quality Swedish Bofors steel. The surface of the barrel is oxidized. The barrel has six right-handed rifling bars, the rise of the rifling depends on the caliber. The receiver frame is made of forged, surface-hardened tempered steel.
The bolt and bolt handle have been forged from one piece. the bolt is extremely durable and has been tested with a pressure test load of eight tons.
The receiver bridge has a so-called salmon tail and a wedge-shaped rail for rifle scope mounts. The Sako rifle bolt is further developed tube bolt from the Mauser bolt.
The trigger assembly mechanisms a wedge threshold firing device with a vertically falling sear. Both the sear engagement and after-pull are adjustable.
