Description:
This is an interesting Sharps Model 1863 that was converted in the period, but retained it's percussion configuration. SN: 95472, with the barrel being SN: 1234. Unfortunately, I cannot find the gunsmith who did the conversion. The 34 inch long octagon barrel is a .44 cal., and retains it's original rifling. Overall, the condition is excellent, with the one flaw being the hairline cracks in the forearm. The rifle weighs in at over 15 lbs, and was clearly a professional conversion due to the high quality craftmanship. The action works as it should.
