Payment Types Accepted: USPS Money Order, Money Order, or Certified Check Description: This is a Sharps Model 1863 that was returned to the factory in the 1870s and converted into a sporting rifle. SN 95350 - matching on tang and barrel. As can be seen, this rifle has had a hard life, but is in overall good condition. The metal has a grey/brown patina, but there is no pitting to be seen. The 30 inch octagon barrel is chambered in 45 2 1/10, which was Sharps' way of saying 45-70. It retains visible rifling. Structurally, the rifle is excellent, with no wobbles or broken parts. The action works flawlessly, as does the double set trigger. This rifle does have an 1874 lock plate - from what I could find, the earlier factory conversions utilized more 1874 parts than the later conversions. If you have any questions, or would like any other photos, do not hesitate to ask. The payment methods listed are the only ones that I will accept. SOLD Antique: Yes |
