Description:
The Colt Sporting Pistol was an improved version of the Model 1900. The most notable mechanical changes were the introduction of an inertial firing pin and a hold-open latch that slid vertically in a channel in the left side of the frame. Shortening the pin ensured that it only had to pass through its bush to strike the cap when propelled by the hammer thus lessening the chance of accidental discharge. The 1902 is chambered for the .38 Rimless smokeless cartridge, has a 7 round detachable magazine and 6 inch barrel blued with checkered hard rubber grips featuring the "rampant colt" molded into them.
