**SOLD*** Amazing WWII Colt 1911A1 US Property, 45 auto, made in 1943 and shipped to Transportation Officer, Springfield Armory in Oct/Nov of the same year. As the pictures clearly show, this pistol is in great condition.
The original finish is strong with typical wear on it. All the markings are strong and well defined.
It features the correct Army Inspector of ordnance, G.H.D (Brig. General Guy H. Drewry). It has the Final Inspection Crossed Cannon mark on right hand side, and proper "P" on frame , slide and barrel. The barrel is correctly blued throughout and it features the appropriate "F" on the belly, along with the "COLT 45 AUTO". The bore is excellent, with strong grooves and rifling.
The slide is also correctly numbered under the firing pin plate, with same serial number as the frame (1133390). The feed ramp on frame is correctly unfinished.
Correct wide-spur short hammer, early Colt mainspring housing and all the small parts are correct also. The action is fantastic, tight and the trigger is crisp!
It features the correct Coltwood plastic grips, with strengthening ribs, wide rings around screw holes, and mold numbers.
it comes with a correct WWII blue finished magazine with a "L" marked on the lip (Made by M.S Little Mfg. Co, Hartford Conn) also in great condition!
We inspected this pistol closely and it is all original inside and out, with all the appropriate markings. .
