Special Kimber Model 84M Classic .338 Federal. Built by a former Kimber design engineer as his Maine black bear rifle and consigned by his estate, serial KM18102 has a 22-inch pre-production barrel (caliber hand stamped), Montana synthetic stock with experimental dipped camo finish, KimPro II metal finish, three-position safety, tuned trigger and a Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x40 scope (Duplex reticle, .25 MOA clicks, matte, 1-inch) in Leupold rings and Kimber scalloped bases. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 6.2 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.6 inches. CONDITION: The bore is superb. Metal finish is over 95 percent with trace rubs and light freckling over the bolt handle/knob. Stock finish is excellent, with areas of minor roughness. Optic is clear, lens coatings unmolested and the objective bell edge has a slight impression (middle right). The price is firm. $1,500 plus shipping.
