"Serial no 409859B, made in 1892, .32 W.C.F., 26" octagonal barrel marked “WINCHESTER’S REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./ -KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866 OCTOBER 16.1860- “. Bore is dark with pitting and frosting visible in the lands and grooves, rifling remains visible. Metal is mostly a brown/grey patina with traces of original blue noted in protected areas. Forward of receiver is marked “32 W.C.F.", 3rd model dust cover is present. Tang is marked “MODEL 1873" in between decorative scroll, brass carrier has a faint “32 CAL" visible. Stock is good with light nicks, dings and scratches noted, varnish is flaking off in some areas. Action is good and functions correctly.
