I apologize for my lack of photographic excellence........I have had several of these commemorative John Wayne High Grade carbines in stock over the years and have seen dozens of photos of others. Even though Winchester did use a higher grade walnut on these rifles, none even come close to the magnificent specimen of wood on this particular gun! There is no doubt that this is the finest I have ever seen! The gun is 100% new!! This rifle has never even been lifted out of the original box that is included with this . The original paperwork is also in the original envelope which is also unopened.
Description:
The High Grade Winchester 1892, John Wayne 100th Anniversary Carbine, is a limited edition of only 1,000 carbine, each highly embellished with delicate scroll engraving and fond reminders of the Duke. The large loop lever is designed for fast action and matches exactly the famous lever he was known for. Even the rear carbine ladder sight and brass front blade are exactly like the Duke's gun. The right side of the scroll engraved silver nickel nitride receiver features John Wayne’s portrait, his initials and a flowing banner with the words “Courage, Strength, Grit.” John Wayne’s silvered signature graces the now famous short 18½" barrel. Two silver nickel nitride barrel bands match the receiver. Left side of the scroll engraved silver nickel nitride receiver displays two portraits of John Wayne, along with a banner that reads “John Wayne American, 1907-2007”.
