One of the most famous of whom was Fredrick Courteney Selous, a professional hunter, British Army Officer and personal friend to fellow big game hunter Theodore Roosevelt. Selous had a preference for high-powered, single-shot rifles, which he used to great effect during his hunts with dangerous game. Uberti’s 1885 Courteney Stalking Rifle is modeled after Selous’s preferred long-gun, and is finely crafted to emulate the original. It utilizes a Martini-Henry type action, and features an aesthetically pleasing case hardened receiver. The 1885 Courteney Stalking Rifle is also equipped with a fully adjustable shallow-V rear sight, and a Weaver type rail for mounting scopes.
