"Serial No. 31653, made in 1870, converted to .44CF, 20" round cut down barrel marked “WINCHESTER’S-REPEATING-ARMS. NEW HAVEN.CT./KINGS-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16.1860". Bore is bright with some scattered areas of pitting and frosting visible in the grooves, rifling remains strong. Barrel and tube magazine is thinning to a smooth grey patina with traces of blue visible in protected areas. Receiver is a respectable brass color with light nicks and dings noted. Inside the receiver is stamped" M" Brass carrier has faint “44" carved into it. Wood is in very good condition and still retains its musket butt stock. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
