ON HOLD .....This Whitney Mississippi rifle came out of a house in Chalmette, La. in the 1970's and some believed it had Whitworth Rifling. Can't be as Whitworth is around .45 caliber and this one is definitely .54 caliber.
It's strange in the fact it goes up to the complete end of the muzzle. It has 7 lands and grooves as it should have. The rifle was cleaned at one time. Missing RamRod. Proof markings are at the breech with a weak date I think is 1852 and the lock is dated 1851. Lay-away available.
