"Serial No. 467271B, made in 1893, .38 W.C.F., 24" octagonal barrel marked “WINCHESTER’S REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./ -KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866 OCTOBER 16.1860- “. Bore is good with some scattered areas of frosting and pitting visible in the grooves. Barrel, magazine tube and receiver are an even smooth brown patina with traces of original blue visible in protected areas. Forward of receiver is marked “32 W.C.F.", tang is marked “Model 1873" in between decorative scroll. Brass carrier is marked “38 CAL.", wood has light surface nicks, dings and scratches visible. 3rd model dust cover is present, action is smooth and functions correctly.
