"Serial No. 531721B, made in 1899, .32 W.C.F., 24" octagonal barrel marked “WINCHESTER’S REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./ -KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866 OCTOBER 16.1860- “. Bore is dark with oxidation visible in the grooves, rifling remains strong. Metal is an even dark brown patina with scattered areas of surface oxidation noted. Forward of the receiver is marked “32 W.C.F.", 3RD model dust cover is present, tang is marked “Model 1873" in between faint decorative scroll. Brass carrier has “32 CAL" with the initials “AC" stamped just below. Wood shows expected nicks dings and scratches from handling and usage wear. The initials “AC" appears on the right side of the stock just above the lever latch. Action is tight and functions correctly. No question this rifle was a work horse to its owner “AC"
