The Ruger American Compact 9mm pistol is a kind of self-defense firearm. It comes with two 16 round magazines. The magazines are made of steel and are corrosion-resistant. The stainless-steel slide and chassis are covered with black nitride non-reflective finish for extended durability. There are three-dot sights on this pistol. The rear sight is ramped on the leading edge which gives a lower chance of snagging on a cover garment when drawing and reholstering. The pistol is ambidextrous, there are a push-button magazine release and a slide stop on both sides of a frame, and in some variations of a gun, there is an ambidextrous thumb safety too. The grip is highly customizable and able to fit any hand size. There is a changeable part on the back strap that covers the back and sides of the pistol’s frame as well. It weighs 29 ounces which is a bit heavy for a compact gun. Reliability is impeccable and it is quite accurate as well. Overall, this gun is a mixture of modern and traditional, a very reliable and durable self-defense revolver.
