This is from my Fathers Estate. He shot this at our monthy shoots and killed many deer with it. I don't know much about them unfortunatly. The bore is MINT! This is a shooter for sure. If you looking for one to shoot, hunt, or just display, this is it. Here is some info I found on the Rare LG&Y Musket.
The firm of Lamson, Goodnow & Yale of Windsor, VT and Shelburn Falls, MA made
approximately 50,000 Special Model 1861 Contract rifled muskets between 1862 and
1864. Each year features a distinctly different lock plate marking. This is a first year gun stamped 1862.
