Offered is a exceprional Winchester model 1892 in 44-40 caliber. The gun's serial number is 1518 putting if in the first year of production (1892).
The gun's metal surfaces have been professionally reblued with the trigger and lever color case hardened. The metal surfaces rate 80-85%.
The barrel appears to have been replaced with an early 1900 unit. The wooden stock and forend show the normal wear and marks from handliing, but no cracks or splits. The wood finsih appears to be oil.
The bore is clean and bright. The gun will be an excellent shooter.
