Description: Springfield Armory U.S.A. manufactured 1911 chambered in .45 ACP.  This warhorse started out life in the trenches of World War 1.  It probably saw more time over it's 109 years of life and has stood the test of time for sure.  Serial number 83235 places this in the second serial number block of 1915 for SA.  It retains a lot of it's original “Army Black” with the majority of the finish loss on the front and rear back straps as expected with use.  The wood correct SA stocks appear to be original to the pistol. The correct SA type 1 magazine is as shown.  The hammer is SA type II.     The following parts are marked and shown with the proper “S.”  Barrel Lug Bushing Hammer Magazine Catch Slide Stop Some numbers say 25,000 produced by SA, with most experts justifying an even smaller number.  What is the survival rate?  This is a tremendous piece of United States history and one to add to your portfolio.
