**SOLD** Beautiful Model 70 in the ever popular, king of calibers: .30GOV'T'06 (30-06). S/N 88798 with matching scribed bolt body.
This is a somewhat scarce transition era rifle built in 1948. It was one of the first and very few to feature an unusual combination of straight receiver tang and very unique "clam shell" or "rabbit foot" safety lever.
Overall condition is excellent, showing strong 98% original Blue, and bright 97-98% original wood finish with light handling marks but no cracks or unsightly blemishes. The barrel channel is spotless and properly fitting.
The 24" barrel has a very good bore and the mechanical functions are all crisp and perfectly adjusted.
This is a very worthy and respectable rifle representing the flagship of all Model 70 production.
