"Serial number C company 172. Made in 1847. 44 Caliber with a 9" barrel. This gun has no original finish, but is an original Colt Walker with the original barrel length. Most of the markings have been freshened. This gun was converted to a dragoon style catch during the period of use, but has since been converted back to a walker style catch. The grips are very good `This gun comes with a letter from noted Colt Walker expert Herb Glass declaring this gun an original Walker with some restoration. The C company is especially desirable as these were the very first Walkers issued as this was Captain Sam Walker’s company. This Colt Walker has always been considered the ultimate in Colt collecting.
