"Serial No. 11340, circa 1862-1865, .54 caliber, 21" round barrel. Barrel and other metal parts are a smooth grey patina with speckled brown pin-prick pitting noted. Lock plate is marked “STARR ARMS CO/YONKERS N.Y.". Breech is stamped “STARR’S PATNET/SEPT.14TH 1858". Stock has expected nicks, dings and scratches visible; an old repair is noted at the wrist. Action holds at half and full stock, mechanically functions correctly. Serial number is four digits off from a documented 1st Arkansas Volunteer Cavalry Company C.
