New lower asking price of $3100! Recognizing the Ugartechea tradition of quality, venture capitalists have revived the company, promising to produce quality side by side shotguns. Due to modern production costs, however, completely hand crafted guns by skilled workers will be impossible. This 75 EX was made hand crafted from the woodwork to the action parts to the artistic engraving. They can't afford to make them like this anymore. The engraviing and woodwork on this shotgun easily swings above its weight class. This affordable side by side is at home in the Upland habitats of Woodcock to Pheasant, Sharptail to Hungarian Partridge, from Montana to the forests of N.W. Wisconsin. Yet, aside from some sporting clays, it has only been used for one hunting season. My friend and semi-retired gunsmith, whose expertise is in English and Spanish traditional side-by-sides and engraving, has gone over this shotgun and is impressed with its quality at this price point. The refinished stock revealed pleasant surprises in the unique pattern of its grain. Made by one of the oldest families in the Basque gunmaking trade, this shotgun reflects the quality, craftmanship, and understated elegance of the Ugartechea line of double guns.
