This is a Exceptional Example of One of the Holy Grails Of the Civil War ! Gwyn & Cambell Carbine Cavalry . 52 Caliber Paper Cartridges Percussion. Nick Named the " Union Carbine " only 4000 ever produced and shipped in 1863 ! Not many made it back . This is one of the Finest Examples I have had in my Hands in 40 years of collecting ! Barrel has all of its original Solid Blue Finish still remaining . With some thinning up by the muzzle area . Some handling marks . Very Strong Barrel Finish. Frame has most all of the vivid case colors on one side with bright blues and red yellows still remaining. The other side has most all of the case colors remaining but thinning . Wood is in Excellent Original untouched condition ! With some lite handlings marks from age . Original military Cartouche on Stock is Very Sharp. Wood to metal fit is Excellent Plus . Bore and mechanics are in excellent condition! Gun is in Excellent working condition ! Super Nice Civil War Carbine truly a Blue Chip Investment !
