This Listing from a Family Collection of Shooting Sports Enthusiasts is a Used, Excellent Condition Colt .38 Special Mid-Range 1911-A1 Long Slide .38 Special Mid-Range Auto Pistol; Circa 1969; SN CS0024XX. Marked in Italics and Script on two staggered lines on the left side of the slide: “Clark” Long-Slide .38 / Shreveport, LA. making it a Vintage, Original Jim Clark; 6-Inch Barrel; .38 Mid-Range Match Pistol that comes with Three Clark .38 Mid-Range Wadcutter 5-Round Magazines. Sharp Stippling on the Frontstrap; BO-MAR / PAT. -marked Rear Sight and BO-MAR serrated-inset and Undercut Front Target Sight are typical of Jim Clark-Made Guns, as is the Matte top surface of the slide. Mainspring Housing is the Flat 1911 pattern with full coverage stippling. The inside-frame feed-ramp has Clark’s modification to feed rimmed .38 Special flush-loaded wadcutter cartridges; the barrel retains a 1911 style lug and link lockup (not simple blowback); and the short, narrow trigger has an unmarked shoe. Grips are “Ro Co” Ambidextrous, Matching-Grain Wood, Target Style with Deeply Stippled Panels. This Pistol shows little external finish wear, and the Match-Crowned Barrel appears in excellent condition with a bright bore and sharp rifling. Not being dealers or experts, we estimate this pistol at 95-98 Percent (or better) Modern Condition. Clark Tune-Up Records and a 50-Yard Test Target – which shows a smaller than 3-Inch group at 50 Yards – are Included. This pistol’s value derives from the Long Slide, .38 MR Caliber, Three Included Magazines, and Vintage Shreveport Address – before the later Princeton or Keithville locations. Condition is best judged from the photos, so please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be troublesome and costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations.
