Description:
For sale is a seldom seen Charles Daly Empire grade 20ga over/under. This small-bore boxlock-ejector is a very high quality piece; and is nicely engraved with hand-cut rose and scroll that is very well executed. This model was manufactured in Belgium (possibly by Francotte) and offers an excellent value.
The European walnut stock sports a half pistol grip with checkered butt paired with a slim forend. Stock dimensions are 1 5/8” x 2 5/8” x 14 3/16” with slight cast off for a right handed shooter. The action and stock are balanced by 26" barrels that are nicely struck. Topped with a desirable solid rib and fixed choked IC/IM (a fantastic combination for most upland birds and sporting clays). As you would expect, the gun functions perfectly. The ejectors are strong and in time, the double trigger pulls are great, and the lock up is solid. At 6 1/4 lbs, this would make a great quail or grouse gun or great for those long walks on the prairie.
