Description:
Serial #380749, .45-70 Gov’t., 22" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome carbine that has an overall mellow plum-brown patina with some very mild freckling scattered throughout. The metal has a mostly uniform color, but does have some mottled gray fading on the muzzle, as well as some of the high points and exposed edges. The walnut stock has some minor handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout the lightly sanded and re-oiled finish. There is no visible cartouche on the left side of the wrist, and there is some moderate pitting present on the buttplate. Additionally, the carbine is equipped with an earlier, 1873 type, "C" marked rear sight rather than a Buffington type rear sight. The action is tight and fully functional. This is a great looking Trapdoor Carbine, and is in very good-near fine condition overall. Antique
