For your consideration, the Smith & Wesson U.S. Army Model 1917 revolver chambered in .45 ACP. The Model 1917 was produced for World War 1 due to a shortage in sidearms. Both Colt and Smith & Wesson produced these revolvers for the military. Both revolvers were each companies adaptations to use the .45 ACP cartridge used in the 1911 pistols. Serial# 88291 .45 ACP
