Description: General Specs: William Powell, Year 1930, 16 Gauge, 5lbs. 10oz., Chokes IC/M, LOP 15 5/6″, DAH 2 1/16″, DAC 1 1/2″ Serial Number: 13833 William Powell is a revered Birmingham maker of fine shotguns. Most are quite costly and for good reason…they are perfectly balanced shooting machines that excel in the upland habitats we love to chase birds in here in America. These are beautifully crafted classic British shotguns, hand engraved and checkered, stocked with highly figured English walnut, balanced to perfection, and this one is mechanically superb in all ways. Built in 1930, this gun has had its barrels replaced with the British sleeving process that gives this gun new life. Proofed in Birmingham for 2 ¾” 16ga. loads to a heavy 3 ¼ tons, you don’t need to worry about how to find ammo for the typical British gun with 2 ½” chambers. We have thoroughly inspected this gun from butt to muzzle and all is in fine working order with crisp triggers, strong well-timed ejectors, barrels tight on the hinge pin and breech face, great screws, all ready for decades of trouble-free use. The fine English gripped stock is beautifully figured with superb checkering and wood-to-metal fit, no cracks or repairs, and wearing a nicely matched wood extension to give the gun a LOOONG length of pull to 15 5/16” to a checkered butt. The original stock measures 14 ½” to the end of the wood, so if you need less LOP we can eliminate the wood extension for a more conventional looking British double gun. The 28” barrels have excellent bores, lots of wall thickness, tight ribs, and are choked IC/M for the most versatility in the uplands or at the club. Weighing just 5lbs. 10oz. and balanced perfectly between your hands, this is an amazing 16ga. gun that will “carry like a twenty and hit like a twelve”! THE GUN IS PRICED AS AN EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE, HIGH-END ENGLISH GUN, PROOFED FOR 2 ¾’ AMMUNITION…IF YOU WANT THE BEST GUN FOR THE MONEY THIS IS YOUR NEW UPLAND GUN. The sleeving process makes for relatively new barrels, for modern ammunition, and reduces the cost by about half the cost of the same gun without the sleeved barrels. This is a great way to own a prestigious British bird gun for the price of a cheap Turkish made gun that weighs a ton and feels like a club. The specifications are below. Thanks for looking.
