This Vintage Remington Model 725; SN 711,4XX made between approximately 1958-1961 (according to Fjestad); has a BDL-Style Trap-Door Aluminum Floorplate & Trigger Guard, and comes with a 1-Piece Scope Base (marked Leupold) & unmarked 1-Inch Rings. It carries a 26-Inch; Custom; Medium-Weight; Recessed Target-Crowned; Bright Polished Varmint Barrel in .220 Swift Improved – marked .220 IMP SWIFT. The Bolt is Matching-Numbered to the gun. We do not know what the other barrel markings mean: a Valentine/Heart; three interlaced circles with initials ‘JCC’ inside; and ‘255 ND’. This rifle is in very good to excellent modern condition with sharp rifling under flashlight illumination, although the bore does not photograph well. The Straight Grain Stock is Diamond-Border Checkered on the Forend and Pistol Grip – which sports a Black Synthetic/Fleur-de-Lis Remington-marked Grip Cap. The Checkered, Remington-Marked Buttplate appears to be Painted or Finished in Black with the edges left as (or worn to) bright metal. The entire rifle shows careful use & storage, and little wear for age. Other aspects of condition are best judged by the photos as we are not dealers or experts.
