This is a Pre-Unification Anschutz Model 54 .22 Magnum Sporter/ 5-Shot Magazine Repeater built on the Match 54 Action. This example was Made in Ulm, West Germany and imported by Savage sometime between 1963 – 1981; 24-Inch Tapered Barrel; Serial Number 955,5XX A; with matching number bolt face. It is original in every respect, as far as we can tell, and is stocked in magnificently figured European hardwood with a Decorative Trigger Guard; raised Monte-Carlo Comb and Cheekpiece; Checkered Schnabel Forend; Wundhammer-Swell Pistol Grip; White-Line Spacer Rosewood Grip Cap with White Diamond Inlay; White-Line Spacer Buttplate; Barrel-Band, Matte-Ramped Front Sight has a Pinned Bead/Blade; and the Adjustable Open Rear Sight is in place. Tall Rings mount to the Integral/ Matte/ 11 MM Receiver Rail and carry a Zeiss 6 Power x 42 MM Scope with a German Thick & Thin “T”-Crosshair. Used, West-German Vintage Anschutz Magazine-Repeater Sporters don’t come much nicer than this one. We are not dealers or experts; and although the wood and metal finish have a few blemishes, we estimate the overall condition as approximately 95 Percent-Plus Modern Condition – best judged by the photos.
