VERY Rare Antique COLT Third Model (Thuer) Derringer Second Variant, .41 RF , SN 5527. Approx. 8000 mfg
Produced from 1875-1912. Making about 1000 per year in early production would put this about 1880.

Condition: .41 RF, 2 1/4'' barrel with a good bore showing some scattered pinprick pitting, and otherwise good rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of this pistol are showing most of the bronze frame with traces of the original nickel showing through, some scattered scratches and handling marks.
The barrel only retains little of the original bluing showing case hardened colors on the trigger and hammer. Mechanically holds very well in half and full-cock positions with a strong hammer spring and good lock-up. Ejector is strong and works as designed allowing for faster reloads. All markings are clear and legible
A super nice antique little Colt Derringer, still looks very nice, all original and would make an excellent addition to any Colt or spur trigger collection. I’ve included the custom presentation case along with 2 vintage .41 RF cartridges for display with this Derringer.
