Description:
A very unusual Parker Hale Sporting Rifle, in .308 Winchester caliber, and manufactured from a Double Square Bridge Mauser action with a solid left action wall (no thumb cut), and with a very unusual rotary safety on the rear of the bolt. It appears this rifle was not fired much at all and it remains in excellent original condition. 22 Inch lightweight sporter barrel. Stock and forend are of the Weatherby style with a rosewood forend cap and rosewood grip cap. Buttpad is original (dry) and probably needs to be replaced soon. I'm told these standard length actions with a solid left action wall are quite rare. Most of the Parker Hale guns I've seen have had the action thumb cut and had bolts with low scope safetys. In fact the rotary safety on this mauser bolt is the first I have seen of this type. Too bad the safety is unmarked I'd like to know the maker. I'm told FN actually made this action for Parker Hale but I am unsure of this. Rifle has a mint bore and chamber.
