Measuring 5 ¼ inches overall the small "muff" pistol is only marked "1773" on the left side of the frame and "9" on the right. The circa 1840's-50's bag shaped handle is reminiscent of early Allen & Thurber pistols. In very good to fine condition the metal surfaces are mostly gray brown with areas of pitting. The grips are solid and show very old use marks. The hammer holds at half and full cock with a dark bore with some roughness and surface oxidation. A neat looking black powder pistol.
