Payment Types Accepted: certified check money order Description: **** Price Reduced **** For sale is a Winchester Model 1873 .44 Caliber smooth bore lever action rifle. This was used mainly for trick shooting in the "wild west" exhibition shows. It was ordered in 1883, the same year that the Bill Cody Wild West Show was formed. The rifle was ordered unfinished so that it could be engraved and gold inlaid before the finish was applied, which in this instance is blued and color case hardened. The wood was carved with a scroll pattern, fits tight to the frame and has no breaks, checks or deep scratches present. The finish is in excellent condition with some minor edge wear on the frame & barrel as shown. Mechanically, everything is in order with the action being smooth and the bore showing a mirror shine. As a Wild West show gun, it was well cared for. Never left outdoors, cleaned & stored properly. Overall, this is a beautiful piece Wild West history. More photos are available upon request.
