The skeleton action is nicely complimented by the graceful shape of the bar-in-wood stock. The exquisite engraving of the MacNaughton trademark best vine-leaf pattern was executed by master engraver, Peter Cusack, and marks this as a very special shotgun. Made in 2017 this new gun is now located in the US and available for quick shipping. Since 1879 MacNaughton has made less than 150 round action triggerplate “Skeleton” guns. Only three are in 28 bore! Presented in its oak and leather case complete with a full cover canvas cover and a full complement of accessories made by the late Mike Marsh. Weighs 5lb 4oz making it easy to carry for a day afield or a session of clays. For a handmade Scottish side-by-side that stands out of the crowd look no further. MacNaughton's Edinburgh Gun is arguably one of the most elegant designs ever made. The London proofed 27” nitro steel barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. They are topped by a raised, solid concave gamestyle rib. The rib is inscribed “James MacNaughton 21 Frederick Street Edinburgh”. The barrels are choked 3/4 and 3/4. The highly figured European walnut stock and splinter forearm are finished in a hand rubbed satin oil finish. Length of pull is 15-1/4” to a checkered butt. Slightly cast off for the righthand shot. For the discriminating buyer this is a rare opportunity to own a “new” and unique 28 bore version of this iconic round action by the first Scottish maker to produce them in the skeleton variant. If you ordered one today it would entail a three year wait and would cost over $105,000 not including the accessories! A feast for the eyes and a joy to shoot; don’t let this once-in-a lifetime opportunity get away. NOTE: The photographs are part of the description. I am an FFL and will need a signed copy of your dealer’s FFL license. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection which begins when the firearm arrives at the FFL. Returns at buyer’s expense. SOLD |
