The Beretta Model 100 was briefly marketed as a series 70 pistol in the United States in the late 1960s, but was otherwise identical to the 70 series. The Model 100 was a .32 ACP pistol with a 150 mm barrel and a grip frame similar to the .22 caliber model. The numbering scheme was dropped in the mid-1970s, and the original Model 70 designation was resumed
