Remington Model 700 BDL rifle in caliber 17 Remington with the 2nd type "ribbon" style checkering, black fore end cap, open sights, blued finish, 24" round barrel, factory sling swivel studs, receiver factory drilled & tapped for scope mounting, Remington logo plastic butt plate, serial number 6504303, barrer date code "XU" indicates manufacture December 1971. 1971 was the first year the 17 Remington caliber was produced.
Barrel retains 95% bright original blue. Receiver shows some flaking and retains 50% original blue. Action is smooth. Bore is a 9.5 of 10. Sights are intact and front sight hood is missing. No damage to butt plate. Stocks show some hunting and range use but no splits or cracks are present. Desirable caliber and configuration that will make a good collector's piece while maintaining accuracy down range and dreaded by the furry varmints.
