Marlin 39A Golden Mountie, lever action rimfire rifle. The serial number V7066 dates to 1961.
The Golden Mountie shoots .22 short, long and long rifle, with cartridges fed through a tube magazine. It has a 20 inch round barrel with Micro-Groove rifling, a hooded front sight and adjustable rear sight. This is a takedown model, the screw on the right side of the receiver easily comes out with a coin. It has a gold trigger and straight walnut stock with sling swivels. Factory buttplate is marked "MARLIN".
This rifle is in excellent used condition. We estimate bluing at 99%, with a few light scratches and handling marks on the metal. No pitting or rust. Bore is shiny with sharp riflings. The stock is nearly perfect, no cracks or dings.
The left side of the barrel is marked "THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A." followed by "CAL .22 S., L. & LR MICRO-GROOVE BARREL", "MARLIN GOLDEN 39-A MOUNTIE". The barrel is stamped "JM" on the right side near the receiver.
