A popular .22 caliber firearm in the early 20th century, the Remington Model 12 series of pump action rifles remain a popular and desirable firearm to this day despite not having been produced since 1936. In spite of the even the newest production examples approaching 90 years old, Model 12s that have had even rudimentary care and maintenance sustained through its lifetime remain reliable reasonably priced and inexpensive to shoot firearms for users of almost any age.
This example is a series A variant, the first and most basic option in the lineup of 12 different versions, and manufactured in 1914. With a 22-inch barrel and tube magazine, the Model 12 is chambered to fit and fire .22 short, .22 long, and .22 long rifle with no modification or alteration necessary. The magazine will hold 14, 11, or 10 rounds of .22-long, -shot, and -long rifle respectively.
This firearm is in overall good condition for age. there is significant wear of the finish on the barrel and receiver. The bore is clean with intact grooves and the wood is free of cracks with only some cosmetic scratches and dents. Mechanically functional and structurally sound, this firearm is ready to shoot and ready to enter its 115th year.
