US Springfield Trapdoor Model 1866 2 band 50-70 caliber rifle. The 2 band dark walnut stock is in very good condition. The 29" barrel ( total length muzzle to tang) has both front and rear sights. The functioning lock is marked US Springfield with the American eagle and dated 1864. The breach block is tight and dated 1866 with the eagle head. The bore appears in good condition with visible rifling. The mechanics are very good and both sling swivels are present. Overall in very good shape.
