The oversized charging handle makes sure it does not slip out of your hand, and an oversized crossbolt safety button, which reverses for lefties, ensures solid finger engagement. A large, serrated bolt release and enlarged loading port optimize rapid reloading. The 1301 shoots especially fast – Beretta's ultrafast BLINK gas-operating system with a cross-tube gas piston makes the 1301 one of the fastest cycling semi-automatic shotguns ever designed, delivering 36% faster cycling than the competition. The cold hammer-forged, back-bored barrel dissipates recoil away from the shooter's hand and greatly reduces muzzle flip. Both the gas operating system and the generous recoil pad further reduce felt recoil, allowing you to stay on target during rapid fire.
