About Us: Estate Sale of Unique Collection

Description:
This is a Collector's Used, SN 147,8XX on the Frontstrap; Circa 1941 according to Wilson and:  <://colt/serial-lookup/> Colt .22 Long Rifle Auto Pistol marked “THE WOODSMAN” on the Left Side of the Frame; the Left Side of the Slide is marked on staggered lines “COLT // AUTOMATIC / CAL. .22 LONG RIFLE” with the Rampant Colt Trademark immediately behind the lettering; Bottom of the 10-Round Magazine is marked on two lines “COLT WOODSMAN / CAL. .22 L.R.” with the Magazine Release located at the Bottom-Rear of the Grip Frame. Barrel Markings on the Top are in Two Lines “COLT’S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D DEC. 22, 1903. AUG. 27, 1918. SEPT. 3, 1918.” These Woodsman Models are made to handle High Velocity .22 LR ammunition. The Backstrap/Mainspring Housing is Horizontally Serrated for (approximately) ½ Inch where theof a shooter’s hand would go. The (approximately) 6-½ Inch Barrel is Slightly Tapered and has the Elevation-Adjustable Front Blade (Partridge-Style) Sight found on only a minority of First Series Pistols. A Windage Screw-Adjustable and Line-Indexed Rear Sight sits atop the back end of the Slide – which carries Vertical Serrations. Safety-Slide Hold-Back/Release is on the Left Side. The Slide does Not Remain Open on these models after firing the last round. The Pistol is in Good Working Order and recently was test-fired. The bore is bright with preserved rifling. At more than 80 years old, the pistol shows relatively moderate wear for age – with a streak of bluing wear along both sides of the barrel, from the muzzle to (approximately) one inch ahead of the frame. Not being dealers or experts, we can see other finish wear on frame edges and below the backstrap serrations. The Checkered Wood Grips appear original and in good shape. Please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be troublesome and costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees (greater than $150) after buyer pays return shipping. The listed price Includes Insured Air Shipping from a CA FFL Dealer to yours. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are the Estate Executor and Trustee, not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
