A Collector’s Used; Circa 1969 - 1972; Serial # N24,1XX; Smith & Wesson Model 25-2 / Model 1955; 3-Screw Sideplate; .45 ACP/Auto Rim; Custom 6-Inch x 1.005-inch Diameter Heavy Barrel Revolver with Recessed Target Crown. A professionally-installed Ball-Detent on the Cylinder Yoke mates with a dimple in the frame (below the barrel) to replace the ejector-rod detent (see photos). It has no iron sights; a B-Square brand Weaver-type Scope Base is professionally installed with Rings and a S&W Variable Power Long Eye Relief Pistol Scope that has a Duplex (Thick & Thin) Reticle. Other features include an Oversize Cylinder Speed-Latch; Factory Target Hammer; Customized Smooth Wide Trigger with Adjustable Stop; and Matching-Grain Mustang Grips. The Smooth Double Action operation feels like professional work. A light to moderate cylinder line is present with the chambers showing minimal wear ahead of the case mouth. Like other Models 25 / 1955’s – this one has cylinders bored to headspace ACP cartridges without Moon Clips. For ease of ejection after firing, an assortment of Full- and Half-Moon Clips is Included. The muzzle, forward/outer edge of the cylinder, and the sides of the trigger show some bluing wear - with the heaviest wear inside the frame around the recoil plate. The barrel is mirror-bright, and any irregularities in the photos are shadow artifacts that move around depending on the angle of view. Allowing for custom gunsmithing and barrel replacement, and not being dealers or experts, we estimate this revolver at approximately 90-95 Percent Modern Condition – referring to its Refinished Condition, Not the Original Condition.
