SOLD!!! Nice Model 66 Mauser Werke Oberndorf in .458 Winchester Magnum. One of the later non-s models with the separate slide release. These are awesome rifles and one of many I have in my collection. The action has a telescoping feature where the Bolt retracts to a stop in the slide then the slide retracts. Ingenious way to shorten the total length of the rifle while not shortening the barrel. The action is very pleasing to work and smooth...so smooth.
there are some very light scratches that are not immediately visible but apparent upon close inspection. These are right above the end of the fore end on the muzzle side. There is more apparent minor pitting on the slide.
Bore is bright and shiny. Crown looks untouched.
I tried to take pictures to highlight both the beauty and blemishes of this superb, ahead of its time rifle.
