*** SOLD *** SOLD *** Rarely seen new in box Savage 99C 308 Winchester (serial # L001908), made in Spain, with Savage having a contract with Llama Arms starting about 1992, while Savage was working diligently to recover from near bankruptcy. About a thousand receivers and small parts for the 99C were shipped to Llama Arms in Spain to maintain production while Savage was coming back to life. Leading the company forward after the financial woes of the mid 1980s, was the newly appointed CEO Ronald Colburn. These 99Cs were produced with their own serial number range, starting with L1000 and going to about L2100/2200. The Llamas were the only 99s made with a L prefix serial number and was only available in 243 and 308 Winchester. The Savage plant in Westfield, MA started making the 99C again around 1995-1996. This particular 99C was sealed in it's factory box with owner's manual and hang tag until opened for the first time for photos. LOOK ! at the pictures and then call or e-mail to make this rare 99C part of your collection. Smudges and streaking on the bluing is from the packing grease. $65 S&H to most of the 48. $75 S&H to the far west eight states.
