Description:
Winchester Model 1892 Takedown chambered in .38 WCF (.38-40). This Model 1892 was made in 1902. I traded for it at the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show about 20 years ago. It has been used over the last 122 years but is tight, with no play at all in the takedown feature. The action is nice, smooth, and crisp, and locks up tight. The bore is in excellent shape, considering the age, and has nice sharp lands and grooves. There is evidence of light pitting, but there are no dark spots in the bore at all. The rifle has the original, correct sights, as well as having all original parts. The bluing is in great condition on the barrel and magazine tube, with expected wear in the usual places (check the photos). The rifle is chambered in 38 WCF which is a great caliber and would be a good companion to a SAA in 38 WCF. Because the case head is the same size as the 44 WCF (44-40), you could interchange a 44 WCF barrel if you were lucky enough to find one. The wood has the original finish and has not been sanded or altered. There are many small scratches in the finish of the stock, but no large gouges or dents. This is a great example of an early 1892 and is a good, honest gun.

RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day non firing, no-tinkering with (turning screws, taking apart, removing parts, scoping. firing, cleaning or altering in any way) inspection/return privilege. Inspection is based on a visual review of the firearm to confirm that it is in the condition stated. In the case of a return, the buyer pays all shipping charges. Please ask questions.
