Description:
Serial #382470, 7.65mm (.32 ACP), 3.5 inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is a later WWII Model 38-H semi-automatic pistol manufactured by J.P. Sauer & Sohn showing the characteristic late war rough textured, non-high polished finish. This example bears the German Police Eagle "C" proof on the frame along with the post-1940 Eagle "N" nitro proof on the slide and frame. The metal surfaces of this pistol rate very good, showing thinning blue throughout and toning largely to a gunmetal patina, with spots toning to brown under direct light and handling marks and high-edge silvering throughout. The checkered black synthetic grip panels rate excellent showing minimal handling wear and are likely later replacements. Included is one original 8 round Sauer marked magazine and a second unmarked one. It comes in an unmarked European style black leather holster with a torn securing strap. A very nice example of a late WWII Sauer Police Rig with the characteristic poor finishing likely made as the bombs were dropping on the factory. FFL or C&R
