Payment Types Accepted: USPS Money Order, Money Order, or Certified Check Description: This is an interesting Colt 1851 that received the factory Richards-Mason conversion. SN 1378, so a fairly early gun. Cartridge is .38 Colt. As can be seen, it was nickel plated and engraved in the period. The barrel was shortened (not by the factory), but the rifling is decent. The action functions as it should - the hammer feels as if it was modified to speed up cocking. Possibly for fanning? The loading gate is absent, which also leads me to believe this gun was set up for quick shooting and reloading. I have not fired it, so if you intend to do so, I can only recommend that you have it looked at by a gunsmith If you have any questions, or would like any other photos, do not hesitate to ask. The payment methods listed are the only ones that I will accept. Fully insured shipping is included in the price. SOLD Antique: Yes |
