SALE PENDING . . . . . . VERY NICE 1889 44-40 Rifle Lots of bluing! .... LAYAWAY?
Original Pre-1898 Winchester Model 1873 Rifle in 44-40 for a great price but only for a limited time. SN 279540...Standard Sporting Rifle with 24" Round Barrel, Full Magazine, Crescent Rifle Buttplate with Trapdoor for cleaning rods (not present). 3rd Model. Serial is in the 279,000 range and Cody Search Record verifies its configuration along with its entrance into the warehouse in 1888 and shipment in 1889. Nice rifle with original front and rear sights. Overall Condition grades to NRA Antique Fine Plus. The receiver has about 75% original blue with the balance toning to brown. Barrel and magazine tube are basically the opposite with 25% original blue and 75% toned to a plum brown...a little bit of very light (and I MEAN LIGHT) spots of corrosion towards the front of the barrel...most likely from deer hunting or possibly in a scabbard. Hammer still shows traces of case colors and there is still original blue on the bolt, firing pin, and dust cover. Nice markings throughout. Very Good screws with sharp markings. Nice bore and action. Wood is in Very Good Plus Condition with nice original surfaces (unsanded, uncleaned), no cracks, chips, or repairs with nice wood to metal fit and light handling marks. No cracks, no repairs. Antique, Pre-1898 Serial Number. The Gun That Won The West. No FFL required Under Federal law in most states. Buyer must be 18 years of age and a law abiding citizen.
